The Redundant solenoid system can be fitted to any of Pneumatrol’ s standard 3/2 or 5/2 control valves which utilise the CNOMO solenoid interface The MRCS removes the need to rely on just one solenoid valve to open or close the process valve. Compatiable with all hazardous area solenoids.

Datasheet
  • Pneumatrol has developed a valve system that is operated with two independent solenoids.
  • Redundant solenoid valves are used for high availability applications and functional safety.

As long as one of the two solenoids are energised the main control valve will be in its operating position, which in turn keeps the actuator/process valve in its operating position. Both coils must be de-energized in order to return the actuator/process valve to its non-operating position.

The Redundant solenoid system can be fitted to any of Pneumatrol’s standard 3/2 or 5/2 control valves which utilise the CNOMO solenoid interface.

Products available with this function are:

  • All CNOMO interface valves
  • Complete with full range of hazardous and safe area solenoids

Redundant Solenoid System for Enhanced Process Safety

Product Overview

The ROSS Pneumatrol Redundant Solenoid System is designed for installation on a wide range of Pneumatrol standard control valves that utilise the CNOMO solenoid interface.

The system can be fitted to compatible 3/2 and 5/2 valve platforms, providing increased system reliability through redundant solenoid operation for applications where operational continuity and safety are critical.

Manufacturer: ROSS Pneumatrol
Product Type: Redundant Solenoid Control System
Compatible Valve Types: 3/2 and 5/2 Control Valves
Interface: CNOMO Solenoid Interface

Key Features

  • Designed for safety-critical pneumatic applications
  • Redundant solenoid configuration
  • Compatible with standard Pneumatrol control valves
  • Suitable for 3/2 and 5/2 valve platforms
  • Utilises the CNOMO solenoid interface standard
  • Improves control system resilience
  • Supports enhanced operational reliability
  • Suitable for demanding process industry environments

Applications

The redundant solenoid system is suitable for:

  • Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems
  • Process safety systems
  • Safety instrumented systems (SIS)
  • Valve automation applications
  • Critical process control installations
  • Oil and gas facilities
  • Petrochemical plants
  • Power generation and utility infrastructure

Product Benefits

In critical process applications, the loss of a single control component can result in operational disruption or reduced system availability.

The Redundant Solenoid System helps mitigate this risk by introducing redundancy into the control architecture, allowing increased fault tolerance and improved reliability.

By utilising existing Pneumatrol valve platforms with CNOMO interfaces, the system can be integrated into established pneumatic control schemes while maintaining installation familiarity and serviceability.

Available Options

The Redundant Solenoid System can be integrated with:

  • Standard Pneumatrol 3/2 control valves
  • Standard Pneumatrol 5/2 control valves
  • CNOMO interface solenoid systems
  • Safe area solenoid operators
  • Hazardous area approved solenoid operators
  • Various voltage and electrical connection options
